CHOREOGRAPHER

 

Luis “Weezy” Egurrola has been dancing since the age of 16. His passion has always been dance and being in the entertainment field. Weezy is EPIK Dance Company’s Co-Artistic Director and Founder and has been a member of the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury Hip Hop Squad for the past 8 years, as well as the coach of both the Mercury Hip Hop Squad and Phoenix Suns Solar Squad. He has also choreographed for other professional dance teams such as the Golden State Warriors, Seattle Super Sonics, and the Portland Trailblazers. One of his most memorable moments in the NBA was being a co-choreographer for the Suns’ Entertainment Teams during the 2009 NBA All-Star Game. Also while working for the Phoenix Suns Organization, Weezy has utilized his communication and comedic skills being a lively and energetic in-arena host for both the Phoenix Mercury and Phoenix Suns.

 

In addition to his love for being a performer and in-arena host, Weezy has enjoyed being choreographer and instructor for several years. He’s instructed at Gotta Dance, All about Dance, Rhythm and Motion Dance Center, Dance Network. Along with coaching and dancing on the Mercury and Suns’ hip hop teams, Weezy continues to maintain a busy teaching schedule as an instructor at Paula Carr Dance Academy and Dance Studio 111, The Dance Project, Abby Bella Dance Studio, and Gold’s Gym. He is also the dance choreographer for the Cesar Chavez High School Champions Cheer Squad and is a judge on the touring Celebrity Dance Competition.

 

Luis “WEEZY” Egurrola has always felt that dance is his life. He also says that “No matter what you do or how you do it, as long as you have true passion you will succeed.”
